Backstory: The main station is the terminus of the railway and is close to the manor house, which is up the hill beyond the brick wall. At one time, trains regularly ran into the adjacent enclosed area to deliver and collect goods, but with the advent of motor vehicles, this was no longer needed. However, the track survives in working order for special occasions. The main building in the station area now serves as the railway offices and workshops for maintenance and minor repairs.

The roof slates are laser cut in A4 long strips of grey card (back of notepads) and cut to length. Rather than plain square cuts, a CAD drawing was produced with minor discrepancies along the edges to take the 'straightness' away.
The building is based on a farm cart shed in Upper Mitton, Staffordshire with the upper floor used as a granary. The model is made of 2 layers of 5mm foamboard which was originally covered in brick paper to match the original, but this was replaced with plastic stone sheeting and hand applied details.
